A29-629 was nicknamed "Cleopatra III" and flown by Wg Cdr Geoff Atherton of 80 Squadron. Atherton had previously served with distinction in the Port Moresby and Milne Bay campaigns while part of 75 Squadron - this was his third Kittyhawk. The aircraft survived the war and was struck off charge at Oakey, Queensland in January 1946.
